Things are coming together! It is a lot of work, time and finances...but only about 20% of it is because its temporary. Most of the cost, time, and effort would be necessary to launch at any location. Things like Audio, Visual, supplies for children, signs...these are all things we need no matter where or how we'd launch. So - it is really exciting stuff, and yes, we'll probably need additional funds if we were to do major renovations on a more permanent location. I think that is why God made it clear that He wanted us to rent at HIW for a while - so we can gain enough traction as a "foothold" in the area before we take the leap to having a "stronghold" in helping people on the life-changing journey with Jesus!

Always glad to answer questions best that I can...thanks for asking. God moves in mysterious ways - and provides in miraculous ways!

I'm so glad things seem to be coming together for the new location! It seems like a lot of work, time, and finances is going into the temporary location. Is the funding for the new campus going to be affected much for when we actually find a permanent place to settle into? I was just curious about that. I hope that this is an area that will be dicussed at the annual meeting.

First off, love the new look. Very clean and crisp and streamlined. And I'm still on your blogroll. :)

Secondly, You were in DC and didn't call?????? Can I remind you how close I am? Can I remind you my husband drives into that city every day??? Can I remind you how I know the ins and outs of the city and could have showed you the town up and down, or at least have invited y'all over to dinner?

Thirdly, congrats on finishing the theology class, celebrating 10 years at Daybreak, and your decision to plant a new church. I can't wait to see what God has done in your life next year!

yes, change is hard when you do it alone. At least, that's what I discovered in my past. REAL - authentic inner change, however, is difficult no matter how you approach it. It involves more than just adjusting our behavior and calling that "change" - it involves pushing open the door of our heart and allowing the light of Christ to penetrate the most painful places of our inner being so they can be healed. It involves listening to the Holy Spirit as He prompts us to deal with those false beliefs and fears that we are not only afraid to tell others about, but we are afraid to admit they are there to ourselves...because admitting we have them feels to painful. This is the real journey to spiritual formation, not only working on outward adjustments, but being changed internally. (check out Terry Wardle - Healing Care - Healing Prayer, or Henri Nouwen's - Return of the Prodigal Son).

A wise mentor once told me, Decisions are not so much made as they become apparent. In other words, God is inviting us to join Him - our journey is to discover where by taking all the inputs and prayerfully listening to what He reveals about them. God has been faithful so far as we seek Him to reveal the parts of the plan, as He desires, and as we always have at Daybreak - we will take the leaps of faith He asks.

change is hard when you do it alone. I did not see you discribe the role the holy spirit playes in helping to obtain our goals. AS for your new plans, you should expand only to the place the LORD shows you.

My husband says I am so technology challenged that I should be riding in a horse and buggy. (infact most people I know would be shocked I actually am doing this reply, now). I refuse to get an ez pass because I actually want to say hi to the terminal people.

Thanks Heidi! Definitely keep praying! I would be lying if I said it didn't sometimes wake me up at night - but its an amazing adventure and keeps me tight with God! Location is so much right in front of me cause we need an answer, but the other important things are not as pressing, but are even more important. Subjects like "What will align us as ONE church, even as we have multiple campuses?", "How will we deliver the sermon content?", "How can we deal with the complexity that has creeped into our organization - so we can reproduce?", "How will we cooperate with God's invitation to reproduce another campus when we'll need so many new leaders?"

Fortunately, God has been providing answers along the way to each of these questions, but it still way bigger than any of us working on it. God-sized vision makes for quite the heart-stopping adventure!
